NoPalm Ingredients produces yeast oils & fats, made from agri-food waste streams that are perfect substitutes to palm and other vegetable oils in food, cosmetics, and home care products. Our products offer a two-sided solution that reduces both the use of palm oil and food waste.

Founded in 2021, NoPalm Ingredients is on a mission to challenge companies and product manufacturers to implement our local, circular, and sustainable oils as an alternative to palm oil.

By upcycling agri-food side streams into circular yeast oils, we are making a worldwide environmental impact, contributing to a waste-free world, decarbonizing the entire value chain with 90% less greenhouse gas emissions, and limiting the impact on natural habitats as we reduce land-use by 99%.

About the role

Are you a hands-one pilot technician with fermentation experience? Do you enjoy being involved in the full spectrum of pilot-scale production, from fermentation to downstream operations? If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you!

You’ll be directly involved in our 400 L Pilot Line production — through fermentation, biomass recovery, and post-processing extraction, all the way to oil ingredient characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute to fermentation operations by preparing media and transfer lines, operating a 400 L bioreactor, ensuring aseptic procedures

• Clean and maintain bioreactor systems 

• Operate downstream processing technologies such as biomass separation, drying, and oil recovery systems

• Sampling during fermentation runs

• Provide hands-on support in general lab and pilot operations

About you

• MLO degree or equivalent

• Affinity with microbiology and/or fermentation

• Experience in a pilot/industrial environment is highly valued

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team

• Practical and hands-on mentality

• Collaborative team player

• Comfortable working with tools and performing basic technical troubleshooting

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems or instrumentation is a plus

• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
